2018 Annual Meeting Hotel Information

SCAM ALERT

We have been alerted that AAC&U members are receiving phone calls from a group not affiliated with AAC&U, informing people that the Grand Hyatt Hotel is already sold out for January’s Annual Meeting and offering better rates if booked through them.  THIS IS NOT TRUE.  All hotel information is included below.

These individuals are fraudulently representing themselves as a service hired for the Annual Meeting.  If you were contacted and provided information to a group called “Convention Housing Services” (or another such name), we strongly suggest that you contact your credit card company immediately to dispute the charge and have them flag it as a fraudulent charge.

We sincerely regret the intrusion and inconvenience.

HOTEL UPDATE AS OF NOVEMBER 20
The AAC&U room blocks at the Grand Hyatt and the Marriott at Metro Center have now sold out of most nights. There are rooms available at both hotels, but they may be at a much higher rate.  If you are not attending the full Annual Meeting, you will find some nights still available at the AAC&U discounted rate.

The Renaissance Washington, within convenient walking distance, has rooms available.  (See below.)

All Annual Meeting events will be held in the Grand Hyatt Hotel.

Located in Penn Quarter in downtown Washington, the Grand Hyatt is within walking distance of the National Mall and convenient to DC's many museums and monuments.  The Grand Hyatt includes multiple retaurants and bars, an indoor swimming pool, and convenient access to the Metro directly from the lobby.

A block of rooms has been reserved for AAC&U and ACAD meeting participants with the special conference rate of $220 for a single occupancy room and $230 for double occupancy.  We suggest you make reservations online but, if calling the hotel, please be certain to state that you are with AAC&U to receive this special rate.

This conference rate is available only until December 15, 2017, but we encourage participants to make hotel reservations as soon as possible.  Once the AAC&U room block is sold out—often in October and well before the cut-off date—the discounted rate will no longer apply.
