Bringing Theory to Practice

Campus Participation: Demonstration Sites

The Demonstration Site Program was the first major effort by BTtoP to study the relationship between engaged learning, civic development and the mental and overall well-being of students. The Program's first round of funding was 2005-2007, during which seven institutions were awarded Demonstration Site grants. In May of 2007, BTtoP awarded four more Demonstration Site grants of $90,000 each for a two-year project.

2010-2012

The deadline for Demonstration Site submission as already passed. The Project is currently evaluating Demonstration proposals and will decide and notify awarded institutions by March 15, 2010.

Participating Institutions

2005-2007

The Bringing Theory to Practice Project has awarded seven grants totaling $630,000 to seven demonstration site campuses. Each of these institutions is being funded to develop and evaluate new strategies to get students more engaged with their learning, and, in so doing, improve their health and civic engagement.

Please see this report from Ashley Finley at Dickinson College, compiling research from the Demonstration Sites BTtoP Research PDF.
