Campus Women Lead
Hosting a Workshop: Frequently Asked Questions/Workshop Logistics
How long does a workshop run?
In our experience, two-day workshops give participants the optimal amount of time to build relationships and reflect upon the issues we discuss, and thus two-day workshops are preferable. However, we can also design one-day workshops if these are more fitting to your schedule or budget.
How much does a workshop cost?
We typically charge $5,000 per workshop day, plus facilitator travel expenses. These expenses include consultations between facilitators and campus planners to help those involved think strategically about whom to bring to the workshop and how to focus the content. The expenses also include a follow-up consultation within a month of the workshop.
Where will the workshop be held?
On-campus workshops convene at the host institution. We can also arrange multi-campus or regional workshops, to be held in a central location convenient to all participants.
Who will facilitate the workshop?
CWL, in collaboration with AAC&U, will identify two facilitators to lead your workshop. Once we have established a contract, AAC&U will step back and the facilitators will work directly with you to create a workshop tailored to your specific needs and goals.
Who will participate in the workshop?
Workshops are typically designed for faculty and staff, and it is the responsibility of the host institution to identify and invite participants. We stress that women can “lead from anywhere,” regardless of their specific rank or role within the institution.
How can I bring a workshop to my campus?
Email Kathryn Campbell (campbell@aacu.org), CWL program assistant, to express interest in bringing a workshop to your campus. Kathryn will assist you with any further questions you may have regarding CWL workshops and help you to schedule a workshop.
