How to Get Involved

AAC&U provides resources and assistance to individuals and institutions looking to advance and advocate for a robust, 21st century liberal education for all students.

The best way for AAC&U member campuses to get involved in LEAP is through the LEAP Campus Action Network (CAN) and the LEAP Presidents' Trust.

LEAP Campus Action Network

CAN member institutions are committed to advancing liberal education for all students, both on campus and in the community. Leaders from CAN institutions work together to communicate effectively about liberal education and to ensure that all students achieve key liberal education outcomes. LEAP Presidents' Trust

The Presidents' Trust is a leadership group of presidents from all sectors of higher education who are committed to advocating for the vision, values, and practices that connect liberal education with the needs of the twenty-first century. See the LEAP Presidents' Trust page for more information.

Other Ways to Get Involved

Sponsor campus-community dialogues in collaboration with other colleges in the region to discuss what really matters in college and how students should be prepared to reap the full benefits of a quality undergraduate education (see sample campus-community dialogue programs).

Organize events on college readiness with college faculty and local high school teachers.

Integrate the LEAP campaign with current work on campus by tying existing reform efforts (e.g. general education review) to your involvement with LEAP. Capitalize on this opportunity to place your efforts in the context of the national dialogue about "what really matters in college" that is being promoted by the LEAP initiative

Write an op-ed or give a speech. See LEAP Speeches and Articles to see how others are making the case for liberal education.
