Preparing Critical Faculty for the Future (PCFF)

Supporting Participants' Engagement in the Project

Each woman of color participant who is a full-time faculty member, postdoctoral professional or graduate student in a NSF STEM field, and engages in both Phase One and Two project activities, will be covered for the full cost of her participation in the project national events. This includes reimbursements for registration, travel and meals for each event.

Each participant who engages in Phase Two activities only (i.e., the summer institute) will be reimbursed from the project grant for participation in this national event. Again, this includes registration, travel and meals. The participants’ institutions must contribute an estimated amount of $3,000 that will be used to supplement the cost of these additional participants in this national project Institute and any cost estimate overruns incurred by Phase One and Phase Two participants. The maximum reimbursement an institution can receive is $9,000 for both Phases of the project. The total estimated cost for participation in Phases One and Two is $12,000.

NOTE: Both subsidies and costs include approximate cost for travel, lodging and meals. AAC&U project staff and our NSF program officer will work to assist institutions with existing NSF HBCU-UP grants to identify travel supplements that may be available.
