2017 Spring North Carolina PKAL Regional Network Meeting
Engaging Modern Learners through Innovative Teaching Pedagogies
Project Kaleidoscope and North Carolina A&T State University are pleased to announce the 2017 meeting of the North Carolina PKAL Regional Network: “Engaging Modern Learners through Innovative Teaching Pedagogies”. The meeting will be held Tuesday, April 16, 2017 at North Carolina A&T State University in Greensboro, North Carolina.
Dr. Christy Price, Professor, will deliver the key note address entitled, "The New “R”s for Engaging Modern Learners.” Dr. Price, a professor of psychology at Dalton State College, has been teaching at the collegiate level for over 20 years. She is a nationally recognized authority on innovative teaching techniques to engage millennial learners and was chosen by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching as the Outstanding U.S. Professor for 2012 in the Baccalaureate Colleges category. Meeting sessions, workshops, and poster presentations will explore new ideas on the following themes:
- Characteristics of ideal learning environments for modern learners
- Strategies for assessment of student learning for classroom instruction and materials
- Awareness of opportunities and challenges of course redesign
- Development and Implementation of redesigned courses
Event registration is online. The general registration fee is $50 per person; $25 for graduate students; and includes lunch. The registration deadline is April 17.
