Truth, Racial Healing & Transformation
AAC&U is partnering with the W.K. Kellogg Foundation’s Truth, Racial Healing & Transformation (TRHT) enterprise to help communities embrace racial healing and uproot conscious and unconscious beliefs in the hierarchy of human value.
The TRHT enterprise will prioritize inclusive, community-based healing activities and policy designs that seek to change collective community narratives and broaden the understanding that Americans have of their diverse experiences.
The enterprise includes a series of Design Teams composed of people representing a wide range of organizations and addressing such issues as separation, law, economy, and racial healing. Initial findings from the Design Teams were discussed at AAC&U’s Annual Meeting Pre-Meeting Symposium on Student Activism and Liberal Education, on January 25, 2017, in San Francisco, California.
For more information about the TRHT enterprise, please see a special issue of Liberal Education that provides an overview of this wide-ranging effort to heal racial divides in communities across the country.
You can access the W.K. Kellogg Foundation's Racial Equity Resource Guide that provides resources organized for the TRHT enterprise here.
AAC&U has been selected as a host organization for the Mellon/ACLS Public Fellows Program, which will provide the opportunity for an individual to join our leadership team for AAC&U's work on Truth, Racial Healing & Transformation. See the announcement of AAC&U's selection for the Fellows Program for more information.
