AAC&U Announces New Partnership with OneHE to Provide Scalable and Sustainable Faculty Development

May 19, 2021

Washington, DC—The Association of American Colleges and Universities (AAC&U) today announced a new partnership with OneHE to make sustainable faculty development available at scale. This partnership will enable AAC&U member colleges, universities, and systems to provide their faculty with equitable access to professional development for enhancing teaching and learning as well as to a global community of educators.

Watch the video message from AAC&U President Lynn Pasquerella announcing the partnership.

“Meeting campus goals for equity and student success requires that faculty keep pace with changes occurring in higher education and with the latest innovations in teaching and learning,” said AAC&U President Lynn Pasquerella. “By partnering with OneHE, we will be able to help our member institutions ensure that all their faculty have the support they need, when they need it, to be as effective as possible for their students.”

OneHE provides timely access to resources and courses on evidence-based approaches that faculty can put into practice immediately to improve student learning outcomes. The online platform also provides access to a global network of experts, enabling educators to connect, collaborate, and share innovative teaching and learning practices. Available on demand, the microlearning content curated by OneHE is designed to complement and enhance an institution’s existing professional development opportunities.

Speaking on the new collaboration, Olivia Fleming, OneHE Co-Founder and Director of Partnerships, said “This is an important and exciting collaboration for OneHE. Our partnership with AAC&U is founded on shared principles and values—liberal education, equity, and inclusion—and a belief that all educators should have access to professional development, not just the few. We will work with AAC&U and their members to support faculty to apply evidence-based approaches from our experts in their everyday practice for the benefit of their students. We will also be co-creating exciting new courses with AAC&U for release later this year.”

Through this new partnership, AAC&U member institutions will be eligible to join OneHE at a significantly discounted rate, and in the coming months AAC&U and OneHE will co-create exclusive microlearning content for AAC&U members. Ashley Finley, AAC&U vice president for research and senior advisor to the president, and C. Edward Watson, CIO and associate vice president for curricular and pedagogical innovation, will both serve on the OneHE Global Advisory Group.
